We are a day away from getting on that big bird and heading out into the big blue yonder.
So it's time to think about packing the bags ands getting thing organised. One bonus of continually living out of a suitcase means packing is pretty simple, not a lot to choose from!!! Who ever thought that would be a positive?
It's Morocco we are heading to, so have been checking on the temperatures daily but it looks to consistently be sitting around the 30's. It sounds pretty jolly good to me after a couple of weeks of rain here.
Prep that has taken place - letting the bank know we're going otherwise they assure me they would put a stop on the card. That would put an end to any thoughts of shopping and having fun!!!
Toughening the feet up to the sandals. You know that feeling when you have these soft little lily white feet and toes that haven't seen the light of day for months. We suddenly expose them hoping that they'll adapt to those old sandals immediately. But thats not always the case especially if it's in 30degree heat and you are wearing them for fourteen hours a day. Ooh blisters on the soles of the feet or raw between the toes. Not a good look on the second day of holiday.
Waxing and exfoliating the legs. Had almost forgotten what they look like over winter so a bit of spit and polish is a must. Some good bright toenail polish just to finish things off.
Slapping on a good dollop of fake tan, over the last couple of weeks. Endeavouring not to go orange like an Essex girl but just to give the legs and arms a slight hint of colour so you can see where the white t shirt finishes !! Funny how Dave doesn't really seem to care about his at all.
And to add a little challenge to the packing we are only taking hand luggage. With Easyjet that a small cabin sized bag 50x20x40 but can be of any weight. Worst thing is really the small amount of toiletries you are allowed to take. Nothing over 100mls of course and only 10 small bottles that would add up to 1000mls. So what are the priorities, the things I can't do without - then I can work back from that. And if worst comes to worst there will always be a shop somewhere around.
Photocopies of passports are done.
Money belts are packed, highly recommended, so we are going prepared. Leaving behind all the diamonds and pearls - haha. It'll be au naturalle no bling this week.
As I sort out our bags Dave has been doing more research on Morocco. Reading some great blogs on what others did there last month, how they found the food, accommodation, transport etc. You Tube has lots of good short clips or people wandering around Marrakech. It's a really good way to get an idea of where we are going, so we're a little more familiar with the surroundings.
